New Delhi. India won the title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. This is India’s second consecutive ICC tournament title. Earlier, Team India also won the T20 World Cup 2024. With this historic win, India once again proved that it is the real king of world cricket.

– New Zealand’s strong start, but Indian bowlers did wonders

In the final match, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. Despite the initial setbacks, with the help of innings of Daryl Mitchell (63) and Michael Bracewell (53), the Kiwi team scored 251/7 in 50 overs. Despite adding 50 runs in the last five overs, New Zealand could not score a big score.

– Rohit’s captaincy innings, India easily achieved the target

Chasing the target of 252 runs, Team India got off to a great start. Rohit Sharma (76) and Shubman Gill (31) added 105 runs for the first wicket. However, after this India lost two wickets within one run, when Virat Kohli was dismissed after scoring just 1 run. But Rohit strengthened the team by playing a captaincy innings. He scored 76 runs in 83 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes. Shreyas Iyer (48) and Axar Patel (29) made great contributions. In the end, KL Rahul (34) and Ravindra Jadeja (9)** led India to victory in the 49th over. Jadeja made India the champion of the Champions Trophy by hitting the winning four.
